
There are three types of stress, which are given below, with each differing as to how they affect the person.
- The first type is Eustress, which is considered to be of a good type, providing the person with inspiration and motivation. It is said to arise from different situations like getting a new job or promotion. This type motivates the person to do his/her job well.
- Distress is the second type, which is just opposite to that of Eustress, with regards to its effect upon the individual. It is the one that people often report when under pressure, be at the workplace or at home or due to financial reasons and causes ill effects. It is more to do with negative stress. It causes sadness, grief and despair and disturbs the body equilibrium. This may take place due to major property or position loss, medical difficulties or death of a beloved one. It can also be life changing event.
