The branch of Ayurveda is based on three important factors or energy forms namely, the Vata, Pitta and the Kapha. A Dosha in terms of Ayurveda implies an imbalance in one or more of the energy forms. When the imbalance or malfunctioning of the energy factor arises it manifests as a disease. In Ayurveda, each disease is grouped into one or many forms of Dosha and treated accordingly.
